Your experience through any financial institution’s drive-thru lanes probably hasn’t changed much in the last few decades, has it? Sure, banks and credit unions nationwide may have added little improvements here and there such as video technology, more reliable tubes, and additional lanes, but overall, the experience has stayed fairly constant. That is until now…
Introducing ATM / Video Teller Machines!
While not all our member locations will be equipped with ATM Video Teller machines quite yet (check below for coming locations), this revolutionary drive-thru experience will be new to a lot of our members. We’ve answered many common questions you might have below.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an ATM Video Teller machine?
Good question! ATM Video Teller machines are a part of our on-going commitment to enhancing the member experience, allowing us to provide face-to-face service for our members through the use of technology. Using a Video Teller is like talking on a webcam or Facetiming with a friend, but in this case, you’re talking with one of Honor’s Virtual Member Specialists.
This team member will help you conduct any of the financial transactions that you’re used to performing through the drive-thru, right through the machine.
What's the difference between an ATM Video Teller and a regular ATM?
Great question! A Video Teller offers you an enhanced ATM experience and the ability to perform everyday teller transactions with a real person via two-way video and built-in speakers, just as you would with any teller through the comfort of your car.
When selecting the Video Teller option, you’ll connect with one of our Member Specialists who will guide you through your transaction. It’s also important to note that all our smart machines also work just like a normal ATM would as well, if a simple cash withdrawal is all you need.
How does it work?
After pulling up to a machine, simply touch the screen to speak directly with one our Video Tellers. They’ll be happy to assist you with all of your transaction needs. Or, you can choose to use the ATM without assistance to: withdraw cash or make deposits without an envelope.
What types of transactions can I do?
You can perform virtually any transaction that you normally would at any other member center’s drive-thru via these machines, which include:
- Make deposits
- Make withdrawals
- Cash checks
- Transfer money
- Make loan or credit card payments
- Receive balance information
As a self-service option, you can also use it as a traditional ATM, allowing you to perform financial transactions on your own without video assistance.

- Expanded Services – Outside of the hours noted above, you can perform the following transactions at an ATM / Video Teller:

- Social Distancing – There’s no person-to-person contact as it’s done completely digitally through video, which allows for you to stay safe.

Unfortunately, our Video Tellers are not equipped to take in, or dispense coins of any kind at this time. If you would like to deposit coins, we ask that you stop inside one of our member center locations. Some locations have coin machines, which makes depositing coins even easier!
Can I get a receipt?
Absolutely! Plus, all Video Teller machine receipts offer the image of any check deposits on the back of the receipt.
How soon will my deposit be made available?
- Cash – All cash deposits made though a Video Teller will be made available immediately.
- Checks – All check deposits make through an ATM / Video Teller machine are processed using the same Funds Availability Policy as they would be with a traditional teller inside.
Are Video Teller machines replacing Honor employees?
No. In fact, with the installation of these machines, we’ve added new positions and opportunities for our team members. By having these machines in place at the select locations, it will allow for our member center teams to better serve members like yourself inside our lobbies and offices.
You might even see a familiar face come up on a screen during your next visit as some team members have transitioned into this department recently!
Where are the Video Teller Specialists located?
All of our Video Teller Specialists are Honor team members and work out of our Operations Center in Berrien Springs, MI.
If I'm hearing impaired, will I be able to use the Video Teller machine?
Of course! You have the ability to plug in your own headphones, plus there’s a chat feature you may use to communicate with the machine directly as well.
