Meet Jim Welch

Credit Union Trust was created to provide trust and investment solutions to credit union members and the public. We promise to build on the credit union legacy of service and integrity as we create an enduring future for those we serve.

Jim Welch

Vice President & Trust Officer

Jim has more than 25 years of experience in personal trust administration and probate & estate settlement. He is also extremely knowledgeable about the western Michigan market, having lived in St. Joseph for more than 20 years and worked for financial institutions in both St. Joseph and Kalamazoo.

A National Trust School Graduate of both University of Chicago and Northwestern University, Jim received his CTFA designation in 2004. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Western Michigan University.

Jim is a member of the Southwestern Michigan Estate Planning Council and serves as a HOST volunteer at Benton Harbor Public Schools.

His office is located in the Honor Credit Union St. Joseph Member Center.

Susan Goodkind Wideman

Business Development Consultant

Susan Goodkind Wideman, J.D. practiced Elder Law & Estate Planning in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for 20 years. She retired from her law firm in 2019, and now works with Credit Union Trust as a Business Development Consultant.

Susan received her law degree from Western Michigan University. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.

Susan works out of the Honor Credit Union Negaunee Member Center.

Pete Munson

Financial Advisor

Pete has been a financial advisor for nearly 20 years providing comprehensive, financial and investment planning services to his clients. As a Financial Advisor, Pete provides client investment strategy oversight, financial planning and technology supported through LPL Financial.

He is a graduate of Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Pete earned the CFP® designation in 2009 and continues to fulfill annual continuing education requirements and to remain current regarding trends and planning techniques within the industry.

Pete works out of the Honor Credit Union Negaunee Member Center.

Mark Sutherland

Financial Planner

Mark has been a financial planner for over 30 years years providing comprehensive, financial and investment planning services to his clients.

Mark maintains two strong associations. First, he provides securities oversight, financial planning and technology supported through LPL Financial. Secondly, Mark is an active member of a prestigious and large regional network of America Group Retirement Strategy Centers. Service team members are skilled, knowledgeable, and focused on serving clients with dedication and distinction. America Group Retirement Strategy Centers is known as one of the “Top” large enterprises associated with LPL Financial.

Mark attended Michigan State University. He graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration in 1979.
