BENTON HARBOR, MI – Feb. 14, 2020 – In 2019, Honor Credit Union was proud to be the founding partner of Summit Financial Wellness, an independent non-profit organization that provides financial education and coaching services to help clients achieve and maintain financial stability. The Summit is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

Summit Financial Wellness Executive Director, Barbara Sistrunk, is a native of Benton Harbor and a passionate advocate for improving the lives of under-served residents in the community. Aligned with the agency’s and Sistrunk’s goals to connect community members with financial resources and coaching partners, The Summit is hosting Berrien County’s first Show Me the Money Day.

Show Me the Money Day will be held at Michigan Works, located at 499 West Main Street in Benton Harbor, from 12:00-3:00 pm on Saturday, February 22nd. This financial and community fair is an annual statewide event that kicks off tax season to offer valuable information to attain financial goals.

A variety of workshops will be held including FAFSA, credit scores, buying a home, budgeting and more. The free event will also feature several financial institutions and community resources under one roof.
